I think the lack of being able to sort the leaderboard by friends only makes the online leaderboards feature more or less useless. I'm not terribly great at pinball, therefore I really have no chance of competing with people who are on the global leaderboard. But I might against people who are on my friends list. In so many games now I don't even look at the global leaderboard and only sort by friends. I can't do that here. Also, not being able to see the online leaderboard while you're IN a table (and can only view it from the main menu) is another misstep. You have to bring it up from the main menu and scroll over to whatever table you want to view.

The actual game itself is really good, which makes the missteps on the leaderboard interface all the more frustrating. Like I said on the podcast I had been waiting patiently for the game to be released for the Xbox 360 so I'd be able to compete against friends on all of these classic tables. There is no good reason that I can think of why the game is missing that feature.

The Xbox 360 version of "Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection" is excellent. Compared to the Wii version, it has the following improvements:

1. Three additional tables:

    a. Medieval Madness (the #3 ranked table on ipdb.org)

    b. Tales of the Arabian Nights (the #6 ranked table on ipdb.org)

    c. No Good Gofers [sic] (designed by the creator of Twilight Zone and The Addams Family, the top two tables on ipdb.org)

2. High-definition graphics.

3. Online leaderboards.

4. Custom soundtrack support.

However, I feel that the Wii version still has the following advantages:

1. Tilt Control -- Shaking the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controller is an intuitive way to simulate tilting the machine. Moving the left analog thumbstick just does not provide the same experience. However, if you have never played the Wii version, then you probably will not miss this feature.

2. 4:3 Video Aspect Ratio -- Playing pinball in widescreen makes it more difficult to view the inherently vertically-oriented tables. That said, the included dynamic camera options are very good. The Xbox 360 version should have included an option to rotate the display 90 degrees (for displays that support a vertical orientation), similar to the display option available in Ikaruga.

If you already own the Wii version, then I would still highly recommend purchasing the Xbox 360 version for the digital version of Medieval Madness alone. It can be purchased at a great, low price from your sponsor, amazon.com, with free two-day shipping for Amazon Prime members.
