Oh, and I think it was Patrick who said this, about the Austin Powers cart racing game for Dreamcast.
He was actually right, there was an Austin Powers cart racer for Dreamcast (kind of, but I'll get to that in a second) that was called Austin Powers: Mojo Rally. It was cancelled and never released, though.
I think Garnett is good host, and he seems like a nice guy, but I always start yawning when he starts into talking about something at length. I like the guy in really short doses. Those doses being things like "Welcome to another episode of 1UP Yours." Anything longer then that, and my interest starts to wane.
I don't know how much he drinks during the podcast, but maybe he should cut it down a bit. Because more often then not he says some seriously weird, random shit.
Gamescoop I don't like as much as I used to, mainly because of the R.O.B. bit that they go back to sometimes. I just don't find it all that entertaining.
And I used to love Wii-k in Review, but I don't listen to it anymore at all. Actually, I'd say I can't stand it now. Matt and Bozon are good, but what the hell is that Girl Jessica Chobot doing on there? I don't remember what she does for IGN, but there is no way it has anything to do with games. I listen to video game podcasts so I can hear people with some sort knowledge of games talk about them, and she just f'ing kills it.
IGN is AFK and (Insert month here) in Review were pleasent surprises, because I like those alot also.
The one knock I have against their podcasts, is sometimes they won't do any new ones at all for weeks without any warning or explantion. Every once in awhile out of the three weekly 'casts, they'll just put out one of them for the week, or just none at all.
I've never played Catan before, but I'll more then likely buy it. Seems fun. Also, throw some Monopoly on XBLA too, and we'd be in business.
How many do you have? I've bought 18 so far. I feel like kind of a tool because that seems like a little much, but whatever. The only one I really wish I didn't buy so far was Boom Boom Rocket.
I have to say, I think my favorite thing about the Xbox 360 thus far has been Live Arcade. And these past 3 weeks really caught me off gaurd because I never expected them to shit more then one game out a week, and for multiple weeks at that, because they've been so sloth-like in the past. I really hope they keep this up, because you have to think they have a big backlog of games that are done that they just haven't put out there yet. I mean, there are games that were expected to be released long ago but now seem to be forgotten about. [Excuse my french, but where the **** is Sonic The Hedgehog: High Speed? It had an expected date of late 2006, then 1st quarter 2007, and now who knows.]
Pinball FX. Alot of it, for some damn reason that even I can't figure out.
I also decided to finally pop in Tony Hawk's Project 8, mainly because I wanted to bump my (sigh) achievement score. But to my surprise, I'm actually really enjoying it. First Tony Hawk game I've been really into since 4.
