Holy cow, I had so much fun with this game last night! I haven't had a chance to play online yet, but I hope to do so in a few days.

I almost deleted this game, I thought it looked a little too goofy, or something, but man am I glad I gave it a shot!

To do that, is it a full charge for each title, or is there a cheaper "upgrade" price?

That all makes sense to me. I forgot about these games just running in the Wii "shell".

    Thanks for easing my fears!

Wii U virtual console games transfer
Back with another Wii U question...

So, I have a lot of VC games on my Wii, more than will fit onto my Wii dashboard. As far as I can tell, this is the maximum amount of game titles that can be transferred to the Wii U since the migration is a one-tme thing.

    1. Is my logic correct on the above scenario?

    2. Not all of the games I have are available on the Wii U VC (Neo Geo, etc.). Are these still transferable and playable?

    3. Will migrating my games and purchase history to the Wii U make the remaining VC games on my Wii unplayable?

Sorry for so many questions, but I'm being reminded of Nintendo's wonderful attention to detail, or lack thereof in this situation.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the quick input, everyone. I'm going to play mostly Nintendo stuff (with the occasional Bayonetta and Wonderful 101 mixed in), so I'll probably just try the Gamepad for a while, maybe upgrade after I've put in some time.

I'll have to look into Nintendo Land/ Wii remote plus a little more though. I assume my kids would like that game (I got it as a pack-in), but we'll have plenty of other Mario stuff to play that doesn't require new controllers.

    Thanks again!

    Wii U Controller Options
I'm joining the Wii U owners club on Christmas morning. I have had very little hands on time with the console, so I'm a little confused about the controller options...

Pro controller--Besides games that use the controller screen, is the pro controller preferable to the main Wii U controller?

Wii Remote Plus--Is there any benefit to me upgrading my current old (non-wii remote plus) controllers to plus versions for use on the Wii?

    Thanks!

    UltraMegaMC for me.

I finally got a PS4, and I'm looking forward to playing some Destiny (I couldn't resist the white PS4 bundle) and Madden in the near future.

I've been on the P1P forum and PSN for a while, though I haven't posted in looong time.

    Friend requests incoming!

Oh, that make more sense. Shows how much I use my PS3.

I forgot to post yesterday that I think I downloaded an update Fri. night when I played LBP2.

The "There is an update available for this game" warning came up, which seemed odd given the PSN status at the time. Rather than cancel out, like I did the previous night (I was afraid that my system would implode), I was curious to see what would happen when I said "yes". To my surprise, it downloaded just fine, and I was off playing LBP2 in no time (no server access though).

Kind of weird, and certainly unexpected.

So, with Dirt 3 releasing very soon (May 24), is anyone else planning on picking this up?

How about that $300 RC bundle--any takers?

I REALLY want that bundle, as I've never had a high-quality RC vehicle. That thing would be great for chasing my and the neighborhood kids around.

Anyways, it's looking like a great game; I can't wait to play it next week!

I need to do more of this. I've got a bunch of games on the Virtual Console that I've been meaning to put some time into; both to reminisce and to help me save a few bucks.

Agreed, that's a really fun one! The mecha worm is pretty cool, also. (I forget if you would've gotten to that point yet, or not.) Some very fun boss battles in that game!

I'm not exactly sure how "true" the remake is to the original (as far as level layout, enemy placement, bosses, etc.), since I never made much progress in the original, but it's a VERY well done game and well worth your time, if you're a fan of BC. It's got AWESOME music and solid graphics throughout, fun boss fights, and it also has challenge rooms (kind a "VR Taining" setup, where you try to improve your time through crazy levels, made to really test your bionic arm swinging skills). Very much worth the $10 cost, IMO.

This man speaks the truth! BC's reception was amazingly stilted, in my opinion--people wanted it to be C.O.D. because it had guns, and they wanted it to be GTA because it was a third person action game. It was never intended to be either. It was intended to be a game with some cool weapons and some cool actions (a bionic-frickin' arm, people!) It was certainly not perfect, but there was a lot more fun to be had than most people realized.

    On topic...
I definitely dabble in many different games at one time, as I tend to get caught up in buying the new hotness. Over the last 6 months or so, though, I've gotten MUCH better about buying fewer games and finishing more of them.

One of the greatest things about this gen. though, IMO, is that going back to finish older games is a lot easier than it's been in previous gens. To me, even launch games still look good and play well (with some exception, of course). That being said, one day I WILL go back to finish The Darkness.

Same goes for me. I love that I've got to approach this game a little differently than most other shooters; if I get too aggressive, I get punished for it. It's very well balanced in that regard.

I haven't even touched multi-player yet, but I hope to soon.

Pro Tip--Don't be an idiot, like me, and completely forget to use the "heavy armor" ability for the first 2 hours of the game. :S
