I loved Golden Axe in the arcade, and never really played much of the Genesis game, but man it was pissing me off. I'm not really great at this style of game, but it was just a massacre. Maybe the game is more playable with two people so the enemy can't surround and rape you so easy. Get knocked down, stand up, try to perform an action, nope get knocked down again. That's about how it went for me. It's been years since I played the arcade game, so maybe I just suck more.

Fatal Labyrinth.
This is one of the best games on the collection.

Decap Attack is rather nifty as well. Sorta reminds me of Adventure Island just in the way it feels.
Fatal Labyrinth is a short and sweet roguelike that I found refreshing in its simplicity.
I'm taking away from this discussion that we're all going to have very different ratings on the game list. I don't like puzzle games, and Mean Bean Machine is kind of a dick. It figures the one trophy that requires a game be beat is on the game I probably enjoy least on the whole collection. Yes, I liked Columns better. Not by much, and maybe it's because I could actually achieve the goal, but I'm just not going to bother getting the last trophy because of freaking Bean Machine.

Another easy achievement is in Vectorman 2. When you start playing, pause the game and press Up, Right, X, Y, X, Down, Left, X, Down (on the Xbox controller). Unpause, and you'll go to a level select screen. Change "Planet Fall" to "Dig 2" and hit X. You'll warp to Area 11 for an instant achievement.
I don't know why, but the code isn't working for me (PS3 version). I pause the game when the first level starts and input the code (subsituting X for X and Y for Triangle on the dualshock 3). I'll have to try again later....

Yes, I agree.
I hated E-Swat, but I only played the game to the point where the achievement unlocked. Maybe it gets better after that.

One word that describes Decap Attack.I played the hell outta the collection yesterday. I never knew about Decap Attack, but it's excellent. I don't know if I'll ever get that damn Mean Bean Machine trophy. Also, Ristar is still a great looking game.
Enjoyable.

You obviously didn't read the fantastic game descriptions enough.Meh, honestly I think I played it for 2 days. Most of the games don't hold up well at all.

This absolute gem is Amazon's Deal of the Day today - $20. Buy it for both platforms if you haven't already!
Hmm, that's a little tempting.

The games I was most interested in - the Phantasy Stars and Shining Force I & II - aged fairly well. But I'll agree that many of the action games often didn't stand up well.Everything surrounding the games in that collection was super-cool. The games themselves just aren't fun anymore.

You are wrong, and Flicky is awesome. Old school arcade action for reals, yo.You liked Flicky? Do you hate life that much? That game is teeeeeerrrible.
And yes, it is on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection - available now for PS3 and Xbox 360. Look for it where your favorite games are sold.
