Just the best thing ever. You put the beads on a grid, iron them, and they stick together. Perfect for making sprite art.

My brother did all these, it's probably the most badass thing he's ever done.

Broadband penetration in the US is still under 55% last time I checked and only growing at 2-3 percent a year.Who the fuck still uses 56k?

Please tell me you read the actual report with it's flawed data before posting....the real number is very hard to come by since some providers actively lie. A different report listed the state of Kentucky as having 100% broadband penetration which is a joke.

when my roomate has to do some of his remote work for his job. The places he dial's into are still using 28.8 it is really pathetic watching him have to move like 14mb files over that.

Mega Man was circumcised.Oh, SwimOdin...your Mega Man sprite seems to be missing the tip of his Mega Buster.

I finally started messing around with Perler Beads. I made a post about it on our blog.
Long story short: these things are awesome.

It really depends on the game and the sprite. The sprite for Sonic is small so it wouldn't be difficult, but since 16 bit games have more colors, you might also need more variety in your bead colors to get an accurate look.I wonder how hard 16 bit sprites are to work with with those. I'd love to make me a whole Sonic and Knuckles set.

Normally I'm an alphabetical order kind of guy (as my game/movie libraries would prove), but that would be impractical for the beads. If I need to grab a particular shade of blue, for example, I want them all grouped together so that I can quickly compare which one best matches the original sprite. If they were in alphabetical order, the blues would be scattered too far apart.Heh, I think it's funny that you made a point to arrange the colors of the beads on your drawers in rainbow order, instead of alphabetical order.
Are you going to make Trogdor and the burned peasants? Or do Atari era sprites not translate well.

He cross stiches them onto some sort of plastic grid, then sows that onto the cap.I'm really tempted to do some of this myself, don't know what i'd actually do with them once I'm done but they do look awesome.
How is the cross stitching done, is it on the cap or on something else then attached to the cap later?
