Catan, UNO and board games over Live

Board games are one area where I think XBLA can be extremely awesome. Especially online play. UNO is great online -- and because there's yet to be a way to really cheat the system (still no GameShark!), it's a pretty level playing field for all. And I think there's one area they really haven't explored enough of yet -- Trivia. We need a You Don't Know Jack game on XBLA.
Anyway, with Catan coming out Wednesday, who's gonna be playing it? Anyone wanna meet up for a game?

Catan comes out Wednesday. I've never played it. I don't know anything about it. But I am pumped.

I may not buy Catan, but I am always up for a game of UNO. juanster is my gamertag.

Am I too much of a sucker for XBLA games? Yes, yes I am. They're too darn fun for the price.
How many do you have? I've bought 18 so far. I feel like kind of a tool because that seems like a little much, but whatever. The only one I really wish I didn't buy so far was Boom Boom Rocket.
I have to say, I think my favorite thing about the Xbox 360 thus far has been Live Arcade. And these past 3 weeks really caught me off gaurd because I never expected them to shit more then one game out a week, and for multiple weeks at that, because they've been so sloth-like in the past. I really hope they keep this up, because you have to think they have a big backlog of games that are done that they just haven't put out there yet. I mean, there are games that were expected to be released long ago but now seem to be forgotten about. [Excuse my french, but where the **** is Sonic The Hedgehog: High Speed? It had an expected date of late 2006, then 1st quarter 2007, and now who knows.]

I've never played Catan before, but I'll more then likely buy it. Seems fun. Also, throw some Monopoly on XBLA too, and we'd be in business.
Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit (though you'd have to do multiple choice answers), etc. But seems to me that a pub trivia type of game would be hugely popular over Live. And could probably be free / ad-supported.
I'm not sure how many I've bought. But there are over 40 XBLA games on my system (quite a lot of them are just trials). I don't think I have buyer's remorse about any of them, really. Yes, XBLA is my favorite thing about the 360 as well. Just to have access to all these fun, simple games... it's great. It's similar to the Wii VC, since I feel like that machine's kind of evolved into my gaming jukebox of sorts. The PS3 hasn't moved in that direction quite yet, but...still early.
I'm surprised they've done multiple games in the last few weeks. Makes me wonder whether this'll be an ongoing trend or if we're headed for a drought.

Indeed. I'm yearning for a rematch (another one; double or nothing!) since you won both times. If you should pull the "No Not With You," I will break something. :]Those were some good games soultron. I've only played 3 games of Catan so far, and...I'm hooked. So fun.
I hope I wasn't too much of an annoyance last night, I tend to ramble when I'm tired.
In other news; I finally beat the AI on hard for the Professor of Catan achievement. It was tough, but I managed to capture a glorious victory on my second attempt. Monopoly cards rule!

There is a tutorial mode to learn while you play and there is a detailed rule guide in the Help menu. It's really easy to learn though, provided you play through a few games. If you still haven't figured it out by Sunday, I'll gladly join you, Tron. :]Man I really want to play Catan. Anyone willing to play with me and teach me? I should be getting my tv back soon, so maybe plan for this weekend? I know I'll be free Sunday.

Gawd, so good. Anytime I'm on and you wanna play Catan throw me an invite. I'll join you. Played a match with juanster this evening -- mega-fun the whole way through. Even when you're losing it's enjoyable.

Yes. You really only need to play the "Learn While Playing" mode once, after that you'll know how to play. I've played about a half dozen games now, and it's super super easy to pick up. Almost as easy as Uno.

Awesome game last night. I just wished it didnt take a little over an hour and a half to finish. But yeah, if anybody ever wants to play, i'm always in for a game. Way more fun than I expected.

Catan is a blast but how much trouble has everyone been having finding online games? This morning there's absolutely no one online and last night was pretty sparse, too. Are the network issues to blame or are people just not buying the game?

Hey CJ, I played a game with you last night without realizing that you were the CJ. Aren't you supposed to announce your psuedo-celebrity status at the start of games?
I think I had my mic muted. I thought I did it. Damn!

I've had a bit of trouble. Usually it's just getting disconnected from either ranked or player games either in the lobby or shortly after the game starts.
I added ya to my friends list in case you wanna play again sometime.
