This week! Voicemails, tweets and whatcha been playingses. In the first segment we cover a lot of ground, from favorite platformers and Sony's new ad campaign to utter disappointment at Best Buy's The Beatles Rock Band demo day. Games discussed during this 149th show include Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Tales of Monkey Island Chapter 2, Batman Arkham Asylum, Uncharter, Shadow Complex, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Warriors Orochi 2 (PSP), Madden 10 and Peggle.
Beware potential spoilers for the first hour or so of Batman Arkham Asylum from 1:03:25-1:13:00.
And that, friends, is this week's episode. Note, although this episode is called Diabolical Boxes, we barely talk about the sequel to ProfessorLayton that came out last week.

Never seen someone on 4 videogame podcasts have less interest in gaming.

Also hope the crew sticks with Batman long enough to catch some of the really memorable moments.

That may be the problem. I know I'd burn out quick. The thing is, when Ford is with it and engaged, he is entertaining, and I miss that.

I just saw that the original Phantasy Star is this week's Virtual Console game. Get a Game Club going on that bad boy! That game has so many bizarre quirks that would make for a hell of an interesting discussion.

Actually the Gamestop there had some great employees and didn't smell like 13-year old BO, but apparently nobody pre-ordered a damn thing (myself included), so they rarely had enough new releases to go around.
Could be worse though. I think it was either a Best Buy or a Walmart in Alpharetta where someone was shot during the PS3's launch.

As for Ford, I think he's just intimidated by Phil and the others.

I did listen to their Airman song. You can, uh, you can save your money.
I guess I'm just burnt out with the countless garage bands that do covers of/write lyrics to game music.

I feel the same way, mostly. The only "game songs" that I've enjoyed are Hyadain's stuff. All of his songs are in Japanese, but there are plenty of links to subtitled versions on YouTube.

I just finished Arkham Asylum. So friggin' good. It sucks that I gotta wait two weeks before I can talk about it.
It also sucks that CJ and Sewart will never finish the game so they can talk in length about it with me. Well, OK...maybe Sewart will finish it. It'll take him about five months, though.

That stopped me from finishing Dead Space, because I got to a point I'm not sure I could have gotten beyond without dialing back about an hour of gameplay.
If I've overestimated my talent, don't punish me for it... I'm willing to try to grind through a game that's gotten tough, but if it's a situation that appears hopeless, let me Nerf the challenge.
(BTW, still loving Batman, too... wish I had more time to play it, but my days currently are consumed primarily by baby duty and work... without the spare time at night I used to have as recently as a week ago)

Right now, I'm at almost 85% of the Riddler stuff. I'm definitely going back to look for the rest.
