You mean slow down the whole song in general? I kind of like how energetic it is, but I guess it can't hurt to mess around with the tempo a bit.

There are 2 versions to my entry:

yeah, i didn't really like the one they went with in the end, only thing it had going for it was it's originality. The ones posted here are all a little samey but if I was able to make one I'd actually do something 8-bity too so mine would probably end up sounding like the rest.

Allrighty then I suppose I'm a bit late at it, but my inspiration has been zero as of late... So I'll do my best with what time I've got... Time to bust out my secret weapons...

OK! My entry is complete (with autofade!) I present to you, "Insert Coin". I composed it with a DSi and Korg DS-10, as well as a Game Boy Color with the Game Boy Camera. Then using Garage Band '06, I compiled it, added percussion and tweaked the volume levels and effects and voila.

... **NEW** due to popular demand from a few of the people that have heard it, I extended my entry into a full song that you can scope out here. It has more garage band elements in it though.

Thanks man! I'm just glad I got the inspiration I needed in the nick of time... I was mulling over different tunes for weeks and nothing came of it at all

It never occurred to me that the GB Camera mode that I used to show funny faces and produce noise was actually being used to make real music.

I imagine it's a mostly untapped resource. Like using excel to create art...
