One of the recent tweets from Yamauchi made it sound like we won't see the game this year.
Link please.

I'm just going to call it now: Forza 4 Kinect will come out within 2 months of this game.
I hope you're joking.

That is not the actual release date. Even the article you linked to says so. It's purely a placeholder for now, since people might have been expecting the game to come out today.

I'm bummed that the game didn't come out today. But looking at my backlog from just the past few months, I know I won't mind waiting a bit longer for GT5.
I feel the same way. I'll be perfectly happy if it shows up sometime in December.

I have no idea what this site is, but peeps on GAF seem to suggest it's reliable.

I'd love to believe this, but I'll believe it when I hear it officially announced.
Sewart, as someone in the industry, any idea what the time is between pressing discs and product release. I would imagine a ton of variability but any insight would be interesting to hear.
I don't work in the industry, but from what I've heard in the past it's usually 2-3 weeks. But in the case of this game, and how many copies they're going to have to produce, it could easily be a month.

Placeholder date, but it would seem like the next step for Sony. Sneaking games out at the end of a month wasn't dumb enough, gotta sneak them out just before the end of the year now! Next up: Gran Turismo 6, launching at 11:59 PM on 12/31/19!

It depends on a lot of factors. How big a pressing is desired? Bigger pressings, clearly, take more time or require more factory bandwidth. They also require more time for assembling. Sony got the first Ratchet out the door in 2 weeks (after initially delaying for 3.) GT would have a much larger pressing.Sewart, as someone in the industry, any idea what the time is between pressing discs and product release. American's have no problem with brutality either (Pop Cap and Idol Minds come to mind)...but yeah. There's a nice mix here, but the hardcore ones are completely unobtainable for me. Good thing I don't chase trophies. Some of those trophies are insane. Japanese developers sure know how to make these things difficult.
@Indy - I overlooked that trophy the first time through the list...definitely looking forward to that one as well.

Cockpit views are so nice to look at for the few seconds before a race starts. Then I switch to something playable.
Gran Turismo Prologue was the first and only racing game where I actually preferred the cockpit view. I think they just did it so well it worked for me.
