But that does bring up a interesting thought. Are there any teams any of you guys outright hate? I know levity hates the Bruins because hes from New York. But I don't know much about you other folk.

For myself the only team I hate is Montreal and that's mainly due to tradition, and because they're wimps. I generally like every team or respect enough of the players to not let them make me dislike the organization.

I hate everything about the city of philthydelphia....especially the Flyers. I hate the Penguins and their fans....the NHL fixed the draft so they could draft Crosby and keep the team there.

I also hate the Devils as they have lousy fans, an asshole gm (trust me), plus Marty Brodeur fucked his wife's brother's wife.

And Montreal since they refuse to fight....and Subban is a punk

Being from the GTA, I should hate Montreal more, but somehow that wasn't burned into me like so many other people I know. I'm more of an Ottawa hater. They feel like the bigger local rivals to me. There's something about that club and fanbase that irks me.

Being a fan of hockey, I like a little bit from almost every team. Even Montreal. I started collecting jerseys recently and I will at some point own every team except Ottawa. I might even buy a Carey Price jersey and just hide it and not tell anyone.

Now that I think about it, I don't really dig Washington. I was never much of a fan of Ovechkin, or really anyone on that team. I like Backstrom and that's about it. It's hard to respect a team that continuously fail when it matters the most. San Jose is in that boat, as well.

Oh, and speaking of Thomas, I recently got a really killer on-ice Thomas jersey. Black traditional B on the front. Fucking love it. My favourite current player by far. I don't care what he says or does off the ice, he's awesome to watch. Always been a massive goalie fan.

I don't like the caps because the PEDs scandal of a few years ago was swept under the rug. It was part of that Florida pharmacy caught distributing steroids. There were reports of shipment to Capitals players, but it was never investigated.

I pretty much dislike any team that's playing against the Wings on any given night, I'd say the feeling borders on hate if it's a playoff matchup. As of right now, I'd say my least favourate team would be the sharks given they've knocked the Wings out the last 2 years.

Because the Rangers single-handedly killed off all the small market teams and damn near killed the league after they won the Cup to the lockout.

I like the Rangers because of how they're playing. As the Bruins coach said, Torts has them believing in a system and playing the same exact way the B's did last year. I respect that.

Adam Oates will always be one of my favorite players because I still have his autograph picture in my childhood room, hanging across from my one of Teppo. Teppo personally signed it to me, while Oates did it as a favor for one of his teammates to get it to me. (At that time, my cousin had played hockey, I think it was NCAA with one of the guys on Boston, so he got me his autograph, and I was suppose to meet the Bruins, but was blocked because of security at that time, and I was only...what.....7 or so.)

No, the Messier/Gretzky/Leech/Richter/Fleury/Bure/Holik/Jagr/Kovlev/Ruckinsky/etc all did more damage. Yes, the Devils slowed the game down, but Stevens made it interesting at times. The Rangers should never be forgiven because they caused the dramatic increase in salaries that caused the lockout and what they began killed off Winnipeg and Quebec, and pushed other teams to the brink.

(1) Pittsburgh is more likeable than New York. But that's not the point. You're colored by your favorite teams choices to see the whole thing clearly.

(2) The weak Canadian dollar hurt Quebec and Winnipeg, but it wasn't the ending factor. Sky rocketing salaries caused more problems than anything else, which only strained the teams more. Winnipeg at the time was only making money on the tickets, and anyone who can understand the concept of making money knows that it made it virtually impossible at that time to make money solely on tickets alone.


(3) Man, Winnipeg fans are getting very vindictive. Tonight, rather than just a Ovie-Sucks chant, the chant became "Crosby's Better!" You can see that here http://watch.tsn.ca/...9625#clip639625 . This comes a few weeks after the Ryan Miller chant of "Sil-ver Me-dal." Even Coach Noel stopped just short of calling the crowd mean.

2 points for a shootout win
1 point for a shootout loss.

Im not sure if I'd make it 1 point for an OT loss too, but overall, I like the idea. It makes the better teams stand out.

I'd prefer Wins and Losses ONLY. No shootout. OT until there's a goal.

If you kept it at 4 on 4, there's no way a game last that much longer. Part of the problem with the current system is the lacklustre play for the last five minutes of a game when it's tied. Sure, there's some chances, but for the most part, it's like the teams put it in cruise control and just wait until overtime, so at least they get one point. Get rid of the incentive, and the play gets so much more exciting. Yes, some games may take a little longer, but it's not the end of the world, and it was done for years in hockey before the implementation of the stupid rule.

They are playing beastly right now. They are going to be tough to stop.

I'm kinda laughing right now at most Jets fans who still think they can make the playoffs. They have a chance, but they are going to need a LOT of help to do so. On the other hand, the AHL call-ups look fantastic. I wouldn't be surprised to see them in Jets Jerseys next year.

One of the most weird things I think someone ever can do is wear a jersey that is completely unrelated to the current sporting event that you are attending. IE: Wearing an NFL jersey at a hockey game. Wearing a Detroit jersey at a Winnipeg vs Florida game. It's just weird.

I hate the loser point... anything is better. I was sort of alright with it when the shootout was still just a twinkle in some officals' eyes and it seemed like it might just apply to shootouts, but if you look at the standings today, you've got teams like Florida, with 42 losses, leading their division, thanks to 17 points from losses. EDIT: They can't avoid a sub-.500 finish and they're probably going to win the division, even if Washington were to win out.

As for the horrors of the New York Rangers (sorry for dredging up old topic), I don't like any team that tries to buy success, but that escalation had to happen somewhere to create the system that exists now. If there weren't Rangers teams spending like drunken sailors and the escalation was more uniform across the league, the end result would be that struggling or dead markets would still be struggling or dead (i.e: probably no Winnipeg Jets today).

Regarding the Rangers, the real reason that they suck is that they had that huge payroll for a long time and couldn't turn it into a dynasty. The best you can say is they won a cup with it, but I'm not sure the cash was really flowing so freely back when they won it.

The worst part of hockey is that stupid scoring system. If your going to be points based, use the soccer system. 3 points for a win, 1 for a tie, 0 for losing. There is nothing wrong with ties.
