It's far too many clicks to ignore a user

It took me a good 30 seconds to figure out how to ignore someone.  That's too long.

Oh shnizzle. You know, I've never used the ignore feature on a board before... of all the boards I've been a member of. Never once. Just don't get that worked up about the Internets, I guess. *shrug*

I use it on big boards like Neogaf sometimes. Most recently I used it on some dude who was spamming things about Tom Hanks or whatever and just acted like an ass all around. But on this board I wouldn't use it because there aren't enough users to really bother.

I don't see any point to ignoring someone through software, if I don't like what someone said then I just don't read it!

Haven't gotten there yet, but I'll let you know when I do. I'll tell you, it's pretty liberating to have four or five people on your ignore list, because it means there are half as many posts to read on the boards.

I'm sure a few people are ignoring mine for exactly that reason.

Same for me. I can't stand the feeling of being cut off from (possibly) intriguing discussions. Not to mention the fact that there is only one person on these boards that actually irritates me, and he doesn't post very frequently.

Only one person on the boards who irritates me too....but he does post somewhat frequently. But I seem to always click to see what he has to say!

The only person who used to annoy me no longer does after reading his posts and understanding where he is coming from. That person would be the starter of this thread. I now respect Falcomadol's opinions even if I don't agreee with them. Maybe you should give the people on your ignore list a chance Falcomadol.

As I recall you only put people on your ignore list when you disagree with them, not when they say something stupid

Right...because my sense of self worth is fully dependent on what some dude on the internet thinks of me. Wait...we don't have an "eye roll" smiley?

And the way I remember it, I wasn't saying anything stupid...I was just correcting an error that you made in one of your posts. Instead of manning up to your mistake (which wasn't even a mistake, really...just a narrowed point of view), you decided to pull yourself out of the conversation and start ignoring. Which is, of course, the internet equivalent of putting your fingers in your ears and yelling, "LA, LA, LA! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

But hey, whatever works for you.
