So, this game.
I fully admit in advance, that I'm a little unfair since the "end of the world by infection" scenario is very worn out on me. It does not really interest me much. I suppose everyone has their plot annoyances (time travel), and that's just mine. At least there's been enough in this vein in movies and games recently that I'm kind of sick of it. I'm also not as huge an Uncharted fan as maybe some people are.
That game still looks pretty cool, though. The father/daughter thing seems to me the most interesting thing about it. That is what makes the entire thing stand out to me in otherwise cynical circumstances.
Though, I still can't shake a feeling from the title that they've made their Indiana Jones and now they're going to make their I Am Legend.

I'm sure Mik and Pete came in their pants while watching this, but I was hoping for something different to be honest.
Then again Mik might be dried up since he's been posting insane screenshots of games on his new PC that get me more jealous by the day.

You're not alone.
But the game does look pretty. I'll give it a chance because it's Naughty Dog.
I'd like to point out this is made by Naughty Dog Team 2 however.
Not sure what that means yet, other than they are now having 2 studios, or who is working on it, but it's worth noting.
Because it's Sony and because it's Naughty Dog, It's already got my attention. Sony doesn't often put out crappy games, so I'm intrigued. I'm getting a little gamer fatigued on shooters, western-style RPG's and post-apocalyptic games, but depending on how this evolves, I'll probably still give it a chance to win me over.

Do they have two studios or two teams?
Two studios, I believe. I think they set up shop in NC

As far as I know, I think it's just a Team 2. I haven't heard a word about them opening up a new studio.
I'm also guessing this because Bruce Straley (one of Naughty Dog's long time employees and director in the Uncharted series as well) is the game director, and Neil Druckmann (one of the writers for Uncharted 2) is the creative director.

No, that's Insomniac.

That said, I look at this trailer and I see the potential for all sorts of game moments annoying me already (pop-out swarms of enemies, escort-y stuff, and so on). That's not fair to the game, but it was my first impression.
Even so, Naughty Dog has done some great work this gen. Loved UC2, liked UC3 almost as much and thought the first was OK. I think it'll be an easy call to pick this one up, barring some really unimpressive buzz.

I kind of hate they pulled the "this is captured from a PS3" card. I don't doubt their technical prowess but we all know it's pre-rendered with in-game assets.

Considering the difference between an ND game's cutscenes and actual gameplay is like... 1%? It doesn't really matter if it is a cutscene.

I actually enjoyed Enslaved quite a bit, and I'm definitely a Naughty Dog fan in general. So this definitely encourages me.
Im with ya on both accounts. I thought the last 1/4 of Enslaved went downhill pretty hard, but I was absolutely smitten with it until then.

It looked good, but it's no unlimited breadsticks.
(your trolling attempts are getting pretty weak, heading towards indifference territory, so i figured i'd counter with something as equally retarded)

I kinda respect them for that, even though I would also love to play a PS3 Crash and J&D developed by them.

Joystiq says the game has been in development for two years yet they still have nothing to show but a pre-rendered cinematic. How great.
It's okay Lulz, Square still has nothing to show for Versus but a pre-rendered cinematic. Nintendo had nothing to show for the Wii-U reveal but a pre-rendered cinematic montage at E3 and that's been in development for 4 years. MS has nothing to show for Halo 4 but a pre-rendered cinematic and that's been in development for 2 years too...
It's okay Lulz. It's okay.

Consoles are different because Nintendo has already given plenty of details on how games can/will be played despite not having footage (because gameplay is GASP more important in a video game than how it looks!). I can't see the reason to be excited for any game when you don't know anything about it other than a 90 second video that shows nothing. There's no point to them.
I hate games. Grrr.

Speaking of which; since the fungus could potentially spawn anywhere on a host I'm kinda hoping that the "weak spot" is the fungus itself. Would be more interesting to have to decide how you need to attack the enemy based on where the fungus is spawning. Though the video implied it grows on the head.
Bah, it's looking like the Monday reveal is embargoed.
Only new info around seems to be this: http://www.eurogamer...avo-santaolalla

WAT
I'm excited for the next Decemberists record. Wanna know why? I own every album and love every one of them.
I'm excited or the next Paul Thomas Anderson movie. Wanna know why? I love every single movie he has made.
I'm excited for the next season of Breaking Bad. Wanna know why? Because Breaking Bad has been amazing since the first shot of the first episode.
I'm excited for the next Nick Hornby book. Wanna know why? Because even his 'young adult' book was entertaining to me, while his others are among my favorites.
Is all of that ok?
And it's ok to be excited for the Wii-U because Nintendo has "given us plenty of details" about what it can do.
But we can't be excited for a game by a studio that some of think has never made a bad game in 3 console generations?
WAT!?!?!

That's all fine but what control scheme do these books, tv shows, music and movies use?! Cause I ain't buying them if they don't come with waggle.
