I'm confused on whether this content will be available day one, but it seems like it will so that's fine. I'm more worried about in-game stuff than I am about trinkets, art books, soundtracks, etc.

Did anyone else think the running animation looked odd? When shephard and anderson were running along the building edges, it totally threw me off.
Yeah, BioWare has taken quite a bit of flack by fans for the running animation. I didn't notice it until someone mentioned it, but yeah, it does look a bit silly. Hopefully that's just a symptom of not being the final game.

The animations have always been off in the Mass Effect games. The female running doesn't help much.Did anyone else think the running animation looked odd? When shephard and anderson were running along the building edges, it totally threw me off.
The only difference is that non-CE people have to pay for this instead of getting it free with all new copies.I really don't see why this is such a huge deal, ME2 did the same thing with Zaeed.

What's BS is that it's day-one, but even then, the Zaeed DLC was (supposed to be) day-one too, it's not like this is new for them.

It's kinda funny/sad watching Hudson come out and basically give away parts of the ME3 plot to prove why the DLC isn't mandatory.

So uh, I hope any 360 owners aren't going to get screwed over by this:
Mass Effect 3 can't import ME2 saves from the Cloud on 360. So...you have to have a data transfer it from HDD transfer, memory card or Data Stick. If you don't, you're old saves won't work.
That's a glitch Bioware needs to fix. Thank god I don't keep my saves "in the cloud".

Goddamn, two days til the CE is in the mailbox. I've had that shit preordered since last June. This final stretch of waiting is agonizing.

Can I copy the save to the cloud and then copy it from the cloud to my new xbox HDD? That was my plan. If not I'll have to go to plan B. A USB memory stick will work? I'm sure I have one of those laying around.
That would kind of render Knight's post invalid. So, no, you can't copy it to the cloud, you need the original file on physical media.

Wonder if they'll figure out a workaround. Doubt the number of people affected will be large, but it would suck if they just left them hanging.

Aside from the pitifully small size cap of 512MB, I love Cloud storage and I've been using it for all new game saves since it launched. I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to use it since it's free with gold and you won't have to worry about your hard drive crapping out, making you lose precious saves.

This is a non-issue for 99.999% of gamers. You can easily resolve the issue by copying your save file from the Cloud to local storage. And everyone has at least some local storage.
Based on what I've read, it might not be that simple, particularly if you played ME2 on a different 360. But if there's a patch inbound it's all academic anyway.
Looking forward to the game... I'm going to be jealously watching everyone else's progress for a while, though. Ordered it online. Hope it arrives in a pretty timely manner. As if I wasn't already going to get left in the dust by everyone else's progress.

I've never played a Mass Effect game, and haven't played a BioWare game since Jade Empire.
Should I be playing the first game on 360 first?
I've heard the PS3 build of the second game comes with stuff that was DLC for the 360 version. Is that stuff included on disc, or did it come on those of those goddamn one time use promo codes? Basically, if I buy Mass Effect 2 used, am I pretty much screwed out of the additional content?

Two quick question for you guys.

First off, dude Mass Effect 2 on PS3 is $20 new, and sometimes can be seen for as low as $10. It's not that much money. As for the code, I can't remember. I remember it was like a 700MB download, so it's possible.
Also, it's completely up to you whether or not you want to play the first one. The first one's good, but is outshined by the 2nd one. If you do go PS3 though, the biggest decisions from ME1 that will effect a little in ME2 and likely more in ME3 are in a 20 minute interactive comic when you start the game though.

Wow, it sucks that you can't use the same face you created in Mass Effect 1 and used in Mass Effect 2. Something about the faces created in ME1 not having codes associated with them. So if you created one in ME1, used the same one in ME2, ME3 will not recognize it.
Lame.
When I imported my save from my PS3 version, it gave me some weird ass looking Shepard to begin with, not just the default.
Played about 2.5 hours, stopped to do some studying. Will get back at it soon though. Enjoying it a lot, although I'm not a huge fan of the redesigned Normandy. I liked v2 the best.

Sounds like it's an issue they're working on (face imports). I guess I'll try to import my Shepard and hopefully it works. If not, I'm shallow enough that I might wait until they fix it so I can play it with the homely Shepard I created.
I got the error, but my gal was mostly right. I just needed to change the hair color. It may be that it can input some of the face data, but not all of it.

Side note: apparently Buy.com and Best Buy shares a call center... after reaching somebody on the phone (because the site wouldn't let me cancel an order that was in processing), she thought she was talking to a Best Buy rep...

Yeah, I'll give it a shot and see what comes out the other end. If I can live with it, great. If not, I guess I'll put some more time into Alan Wake
I'll give it a week or two... and hopefully it'll get fixed.

WARNING (this happened to me on PS3, and I've heard on other systems as well): when you visit the prisoner at the Presidium, make sure you tell them to let her go. If you do not, you will likely get the Paragon points, but the mission glitches.
I just lost about 3 hours of play because I now need to go back to an earlier save to find one where I hadn't made this choice yet.

At least the game looks nice. I do like the sectioned off health bar as you will frequently use medigel compared to ME2.
