I'm up for it if we can find the time. So many things are sucking my life away right now, and I am also playing games sometimes.

I know next to nothing about Baseball but am quite interested by MLB on the Vita (I like sports games with career modes and also spreadsheets!). Does it go anyway into introducing the basics or do I need a solid grounding in the sport to enjoy the title?

There is next to no tutorial as far as the rules of the sport go. There is, however, sliders to control just about anything so actually playing isn't tough. Out of the box on the default difficulty, for instance, hitting can be tough (and in baseball hitting 3 times out of 10 is considered good)... but with tweaking the sliders you can make it a piece of cake. You can also have the computer take over certain tasks for you. Even as a baseball nut I hate controlling baserunners in baseball games. So i set it to have the CPU control the baserunning. Some folks might not like fielding, so you can set that as well. You have to pitch and hit though. But that's the crux of the experience.

If you have the wherewithal to learn the sport, I recommend it highly. It's an absolutely amazing recreation of the sport - and baseball itself is a really amazing game (for old people - youngins' think it moves too slow). Also there is an RPG-like create a player mode that is fantastic because it flies along. It fast forwards to every play that involves you. It's quite addictive.

I have to admit, I have always enjoyed watching baseball, and I love this series (I suck donkey's balls at the game though). My RttS player looks like a donut and played like one as well, I thought I had it made hitting .500 in my second season in the AAA, but then I got traded and lifted to the AA, now I can't hit shit. I have the sliders all the way too.

Not sure if its the same across the pond but PJ Monsters Deluxe now works on the Vita. Also, Everybody's Golf got a massive price cut over in EU land (down to £11.99, which is probably something like $300) as well as Reality Fighters and Modnation Racers. All this without a single mention in the PSN store blog. Might be worth checking out the US store.

I checked the US store and they are full price ATM.

The Aussie store has them all for 22.95, but I already own EG and Modnation.

Got Rayman and Lumines today, as EB Games is having a sale. Rayman looks awesome, Lumines is Lumines. But my god why can't I save in the middle of a game of Lumines! My games will likely go for hours.

Also why no platinum?

So I am sitting on 90 minutes, still not going to die, I might not get my round of golf in today.

Just tried the Gravity Daze demo. Holy shit it's amazing. While there is a lack of speech, it makes up for it with a splendid soundtrack. The 3D-esque comic book panels were a great touch. I can't wait to get this next week. As for the Resistance: Burning Skies demo, well, FPS games do work on a handheld I guess. No offense to the devs, but it looks and plays like a rush job. Terrible compression on cutscenes (those tip videos holy shit), unbalanced sound work (music sounds fine but sound effects lack any impact, maybe compressed as well?), and some awkward use of the touchscreen. The one thing I did like was the implementation of the down direction on the dpad to run.

Anyone else been playing Velocity on the Vita? It's a pretty damn fine game and it's free for Plus subscirbers at the moment (but not for much longer). Really scratches that Uridium, Xenon type itch.

Resistance is average, but I'll take average. I was afraid it was going to be far, far worse.

Gravity Rush has the makings of a GOTY contender. Well, Top 5. It's really cool and feels very fresh.

I need 3 more of you to buy pure chess. You can have 6 asynchronous games going at once. I currently have kurichan, mik and phineas. Please fill in the other slots. I suck at chess, so it's easy wins. $8 game. Go.

I am playing Velocity and have loved every minute of it. It's perfect for the Vita and the game mechanics really makes for an enjoyable experience. More people should check it out.

Just played the Gravity Rush demo twice, and it's good. I struggled a bit with the controls but it got better on the second try. It was short and sweet, and enough for me to pre-order it.

Still downloading the Resistance trial, the reviews have been all over the place so I'm looking forward to trying it myself.

What in the hell is up with the Resistance DEMO being 3.1GB? It sounds like this is a "thing" with Vita from your tweets back to me mort. What the heck is with that? Larger that the vast majority of console demos. In what world does that make sense? What madness is this? Also: I can't seem to transfer Pixeljunk Monsters Deluxe onto my Vita from the PS3. I re-downloaded it now that it's "Vita compatible," from the Vita area of the store. Won't transfer.

Sony really knows how to shit up a portable gaming experience.

Thus far it's only been a 'thing' with ubisoft, who is always lazy so I didn't think anything of it. For sony to do it also is beyond fucking stupid.

As for PJM... I downloaded it off the store on my vita. Piece of cake. It's actually my most played game - again. I've finished this fucking game atleast 5 times now.

Nope, left it in the bubble like every other piece of Vita/PSP downloadery I have to transfer because the Vita is so slow on my wifi (when it decides to connect, which is only by force).

Gravity Rush seems pretty neat. Demo was short, but explained the game well. With pretty much nothing else I enjoy on the Vita since launch, I'll probably buy this.

Rayman need to be 20 bucks for me to buy it.

I wonder why that is, my vita downloads super fine!? Although I had to hard reboot it after it froze in the near function of Katamari last night.

I bought Resistance today, but haven't had a chance to try it yet as I am at work. I don't expect a console game, and I don't want one. But I think I am one of the few people that prefer the shooting in Uncharted Golden Abyss to it's big brothers, so I am sure I will love Resistance (except for the sound?).

Also I ended up getting Ridge Racer from the store because Katamari had a discount code for it. But I hate it so far. It's my least favourite Vita game at the moment.

Pretty sure it's that I'm using an Apple router. The Vita doesn't seem to like those.

I played the Resistance demo and enjoyed it. But I'll probably try to finish Uncharted first or go for Gravity Rush instead.

Fixed that for ya. I've had two roommates and a wife over the years that had apple routers. Everything I own fucking hates them. My PSN speeds were abysmal. My computer speeds were abysmal.

About 5 months ago I bought a new router. Now my shit flies and my wife's macbook drops connection like crazy.

Is there anything that's good for both?

My Vita and PS3 download at half the speed of my 360 and pretty much any other device from my Verizon FIOS N router.

14.9 down and 4.9 up.

Every other device I test gets the full 35/35

Retail for Gravity Rush, and now I'm glad I went for it. It was in my mailbox yesterday. I haven't had the time to play it for more than two hours though, but my first impressions are really positive. The gameplay is great, so is the music and artstyle. The U.I. also seems very user-friendly.

I wish 32 gb cards was coming to europe soon, I'd like to have as much as possible in digital form, I'm already filling up my 16 gb card, and I like to have some more music on there for custom soundtrack for Wipeout 2048.

I think I will pass on metal gear though I already own quite a few copies of those games and I was even still considering it before I realized they took out peace walker.

I've never played MGS 2 or 3. So i'm pretty excited.

I contemplated getting the ps3 version with peace walker... but I realized that there's no way in hell im going to play through 3 games (all of the 3 game HD collections I have - have atleast one game I haven't touched). And also when im at my PS3 I have much better things to play than an old Metal Gear game. Laying in bed or sitting on the couch with my wife, however, I think some short stints of stealth will be a ton of fun.

MGS2 was such a cock tease. The tanker level was so amazing...60FPS...gorgeous....then...Raiden... and brown hexagons...fucking liars Konami.

MGS3 was also awesome, but 30 FPS and one too many meters to monitor for my tastes (stealth meters in which Snake could somehow change his clothes instantly...yeah i know....and also carry 7 weapons, rations and a cardboard box)

?? Snake couldn't change his clothes instantly in MGS3. You had to go to a menu to switch camouflage patterns, it was one of the main gripes a lot of reviewers had about it.

Unless you mean, like... Switching patterns without an animation off him changing clothes, at which case I say: IT'S A VIDEO GAME. Hell, it's a video game about a dude who walks through a river of ghosts and fights other dudes who conduct lightning, and FUCKING, BEES. BEEEEES!

Got an invite to the LBP Beta. Wow, it's good. I may be a little crazy here, but I think it even performs better than it's PS3 counterpart. I have yet to play a memory intensive level, but I have encountered no v-sync issues during gameplay or sound stuttering during level loads so far.

I haven't moved into making levels, but purely playing it is amazing. As a LBP whore that dumped 100+ hours into *each* PS3 version (and maybe 10 into the PSP version) I already feel confident in saying that this version has the potential to have the best user made stuff of all of them. It needs people playing it and building for it, obviously. But the touch controls mean that mini games that were somewhat cheap knockoffs on the console actually feel like iOS level material. The first level I played which I assume MM made (it was under the beta thing) was a mixture of Mutant Blobs and Limbo and actually was able to hang with both in terms of design and play. It was crazy good. Most of the user made shit up now is exactly that. But once the people making amazing things on the PS3 version get their hands on this I think just about any top down or 2d iOS game will be able to be recreated and actually live up to what they are copying, unlike stuff like the Pac Man copies on the PS3 version. And, of course, the original stuff will be nuts.

After one night my hype is high. I recorded a video earlier tonight, im about to put audio to it and post it on the site.
