Amazon just shipped it and I should have it tomorrow. Is it original, no. Is it going to set the world on fire, no. But it looks fun.

i tried out the demo and was fairly impressed how comfortable it is to handle a 3rd person shooter on the Vita.

I'd be interested to know if co-op is available via wireless or just adhoc only before i take the plunge.

I've heard that co-op is online, but I'm still bummed that there isn't a standard deathmatch mode or something similar. I'm guessing that Resistance will be the first to offer that?

The game is built around score chasing. I think it's gonna be really fun. I've player the bejesus out of the demo. I'll have a digital copy whenever the store goes up.


With the daily missions this is also likely to be companion game to hot shots for some p1p forum tournament action.

Won't Hustle Kings work better as a P1P Tournament? Especially since I just bought it?

That's a bit tougher because everyone plays it at their own pace where unit 13 has daily missions.

Haven't tried it yet, but assuming Hustle Kings's asynchronous multiplayer works like Words with Friends, you have three days to finish your bracket game. Winners advance to next round. BOOM, monthly tournaments.

In hindsight no deathmatch is ok. I usually end up annoyed with it anyway. Mort's description makes me think of The Club. Great game RIP Bizarre

I agree with them about the setting as well. Phineasgage said on twitter that he wish the setting/bad guys was more old school action/spy movie. It would certainly make for a more interesting game visually and thematically. But otherwise the game sounds like exactly what i was hoping for (bite sized Socom meets The Club).

I really want this but I have a hard time reconciling the price tag for such a lean, arcade-style experience. I wish it was a $15 PSN-only release.

Hopefully Amazon will have a sale because I do want to get in on some leaderboard action.

It's not exactly lean. 36 missions, plus co op, plus an interesting high value targets mode and daily missions on top of it. I see myself playing many, many hours of this.

What is the top 1,000 only thing? They only keep track of players who are ranked in the top 1,000?

Correct. It makes zero fucking sense in a game designed around score chasing and leaderboard jockeying.


It saves your score locally, so like on mission 3 I know what I got, but when I go to sort by friends I don't see indifference, phineasgage or any of the dudes in my socom clan because none of us are in the top 1000 on that level.



It also kills any fun we could have had with the daily missions because what's the point of playing it if we can't compare scores?



I really can't understand in the slightest how they thought this was acceptable. What's even weirder is no one on their forums or in the neogaf thread seem to give a shit. The outrage over this seems to begin and end in this thread.

I finally completed today's challenge. I kept trying to do stealth melee kills but just shooting everyone worked so much better. Hint: 2 people talking = 2 really easy headshots

We're looking into it is definitely Sony-speak. Not to say that other companies dont use it, because they do, but I think it's a mantra taught by higher ups. Because the hot shots golf live chat that just happened was "we don't have anything to announce yet but stay tuned!" and "We're looking into it."


In this case, however, since he responded to me directly, I think it means "We hear you, we know people want it, and if it can be done easily it will be." Hell, he may even know it can be done easily and just isn't allowed to say "yes" until the thing is actually done. That seems to be the thing that sony is terrified of... saying "yes" but then having a last second trip up that means they have to change the yes to no. So it's in their interest to not say anything.

Leaderboard are mostky fixed.


If you buy the game now its 100% fixed. If you already own it your old unranked scores (1001) will remain that way, but if you beat those scores you will get ranked or if you play a map you havent played yet it will be ranked. I just beat my lvl 1 score and am now 6500 on that leaderboard.


Thank fuck. Its a really awesome game and now has no caveats . Go get that shit!
