Yeah, another great episode. I think James nailed it on why the podcast is so enjoyable, long may it last. For your FYI and Double K.O. are fast becoming some of my favourite podcasts, up there with P1P.
Since I spend quite some time commuting/walking to and from work I listen to a lot of podcast, but have been cutting out a lot of gaming podcast lately. I find gaming podcast very easy to listen to, but I have realised it's taking over all other subjects I'm interested in like music, politics and space/science. And thinking about it I really don't like most of the people on "gamingpress" podcasts. I tried listening to the Joystiq show's discussion on Gravity Rush this week, but I just had to stop. It was bad, uninformative, annoying and boring. I have also stopped listening to CAG cast, Eurogamer (used to be good when Ellie was on) Gameinformer show, GWJ, Giantbomb and considering cutting out Weekend Confirmed as well. My point being that podcast from people outside the "industry" is a breath of fresh air for me, and I'm glad you guys find the time to do it.
If anyone has any recommendation on similar podcast, please let me know.
Also, if you guys need something to play on the Vita I recommend Velocity. It was a free mini for ps + in europe, and I've been pleasently suprised. Great top-down shooter with some interesting and different game mechanics, and it's perfect for the Vita. I think it would have gotten more attention had it been just a regular PSN game and not a mini. It's surely alot better than any mini I've ever played.
And a potential question for a future episode:
- How do you guys think the next generation will play out and what will make or break a console? Do you think Sony's big number of studios will play a role the first couple of years, and will the lessons learned in regards to ease of development, price and online get them back to being the industry leader?
