i want to
preface my saturday round with me having the round of my lifetime. I had 4 eagles and probably could have had a few more that were within 2' of the cup. I ended up winning the day, which has always been a goal since i started, but its going to make these results a bit skewed ths tournament )

Ok, so here's the deal with me...



I'm burnt out. Not just with this game, but in general a few months ago I started a bunch of different videogame related projects. For Your Vita Hype... because I wanted to write and I needed a topic. I started streaming games live because it helps fill the attention whore part of me that used to get fulfilled by being in bands playing shows... and my hope that someday I give standup comedy a shot. I also have the podcast going, of course. And then there's this league, which isn't a huge time sink, but it's daily.

Most of this stuff has started to become stress... which is the last thing I want videogames to become. And I think this league is pretty special and has the ability to go on for a while and have us get more life out of this game than we ever imagined. But I think for that to happen I need to step aside. I'm becoming unreliable to take scores down. I still don't think i fully understand the concept of moving between the two leagues (like do some of you want that to happen in season? or just between seasons? I don't watch soccer so I have no reference to how this works).

And, to be completely honest, when I come in last place in a tournament it just becomes that much harder to keep up with the league because when im in last place im pretty fucking pissed off at the game.



I think splitting up responsibilities is the way to go. It seems like momerath and powerglove have both stepped up to make sure scoring is taken care of. I do think the league needs a leader, not to make daily decrees or anything like that, but when problems do arise you can talk it out all you want but at some point someone needs to make a decision. I submit Juanster and Kurichan to battle to the death for that role. They both are heavily invested in the league, they both have talked to me privately with ideas about the league on how to improve it and they both would do a much better job running this thing than I do. They obviously aren't the only people here capable of running it - just about everyone in the league could - we have an incredibly solid group of guys. But in terms of people who talked to me behind the scenes the most - those are the guys. I don't know if you guys want to vote or just pick one or have a bunch of people throw their name in a hat. But that's my recommendation as outgoing league comish.

I will still play, and I will still be a backup scorer (ill take snapshots whenever I remember to). But i do need to step down from leading this thing and pumping 30+ minutes a day into it, because it's starting to feel like work and I don't like that feeling. In fact, my last recommendation would be to have a revolving door of people taking responsibilities. Like have someone lead for 2 seasons then get someone else, have someone score for one or two seasons and then give them a season off. Fight burnout.


I hope you guys aren't mad at me but i understand if you are. This is really a decision I should have come to before this season started. I hope I didn't fuck anything up.

No worries Mort. You have started a shit ton of projects lately it seems, and this one was definitely fun for all of us.

We have the people to help take the stress of this off of you. The fact you did all this scoring and stuff on your own for the last two seasons is awesome.

Take a break man, we don't need you going AWOL and killing anyone.

I started today with four straight birdies and was thinking I had my groove back. Then I hit four bunkers.

I had one of my best rounds ever today, even after missing my chip-in for eagle on the last hole. I had a preliminary ranking of 7th out of 400 or so. Of course, it's no #1, so I'm sure it's not enough to win the day.

I was really off yesterday on the first daily, but got top 30 on the second daily. It's too bad that one wasn't the one that counted!

Way to go, Tygor, on the world #1. -13 is just insane. I've never even gotten -12!

No worries mort. We can coast through the rest of this season with powerglove and myself taking care of the scoring, and then we'll figure out the future of everything after that.

I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say we're super appreciative of all the time and effort you've put into this. These tourneys are an incredible community builder and we've got you to thank for bringing them here.

I hope you'll continue playing with us, even if you're burned out on being the commish!

Takes the pressure off just one person, and then we can decide on one later for next season.

Too bad my performance in round 1 was so piss-poor that it doesn't really matter all that much...

I wanted to thank everyone for putting this whole thing together (and eznark for recommending that I sign up). I've been burnt out on gaming for a while now, but I really look forward to getting a few rounds in every day just because of this.

Thank you! I've been lucking out since this tournament started because my best scores of the 3 dailies have been on the first 9. I'm hoping the trend continues, but I know I'm due for a frustrating round.

With Tygor on board, 2nd is the new 1st, so I'm happy with where I am so far. In other news, only three more crowns to go! I need the pin shot crown on the third row and both crowns against the final boss. Any tips on an easy pin shot technique?

Aim for the fringe, I got that crown by putting backwards to the fringe on 1st hole and restarting

Try to go close to the green, aim for the pin and over hit slightly so it hits the pin on the full. The final boss will just come, so you should get the last crowns pretty soon. Congrats.
