Remembering Andy…he was incredibly unique, unforgettable and he will be missed. Thanks for taking the time to do this tribute.
Really creepy, his 1up blog says he is currently online. I
Great show, guys. I was seriously just expecting you guys to mention Andy in the midst of a normal show, but you went above and beyond the call of duty with more than 90 minutes of interesting stories about someone who was pretty much the walking definition of the word “interesting” itself. Well done.
Just finishing listening, and I want to thank you guys for doing a great job bringing these wonderful memories together.
Fantastic show guys, a really heartfelt tribute to a really great writer. some really amazing stories from his friends.
Good work, guys. I’ve been looking forward to this show since I got CJ’s message on Friday.
Man, do I wish I would have taken the time to write my Andy stories down.
Loved the podcast about Andy. He seems to have been well loved. It’s great hearing you guys remenist. I defiently remember lots of reviews by Andy growing up on EGM. RIP Andy sounds like your a hell of a guy.
Wow, does this bring back memories. Thanks for a great podcast. Andy was a good guy, and I’m so glad you did this.
This was a great episode, regardless of me not really knowing who Andy was. It was very nice of you guys to do this. Those were some good stories and I’m sorry to hear that hes gone.
I’ve never read Andy’s work or heard of him before his passing, but I appreciated all the vivid stories that were shared in this podcast. He sounded like a great guy.
I was shocked to hear of Andy’s passing and was very sad to hear that he was taken so early in life. My mother passed from the same cancer a year ago at the age of 65. My heart and prayers go out to his family and friends. He will not be forgotten.
Thanks for the heartfelt episode, guys. I’m sure I read something by Andy at some point, though I may have not realized it. From the stories you’ve collected though, he sounds like he was a cool guy to know and it’s awful that he was taken so young and so suddenly. The things people have said about him have really made me think about my own relationship to people and making the most of the time we have. You guys were really awesome to do this. My best wishes to Tracy.
I’ve met Andy at my local Gamestop way back when, we became friends instantly. I always looked up to Andy for what he’s accomplished. I’m going to miss him dearly. Despite with some crap he got from some people, I’ve always supported him. I’m going to miss him dearly.
Beautiful show, guys. Thank you for getting everyone together for this amazing tribute.
Although everyone’s stories were full of wonderful and funny memories, when the three of you started talking about Andy’s trip to Japan is when I shed a few tears.
It makes me so happy to know that he worked at his absolute DREAM JOB(s) for his whole life and got to experience everything he could have wished for.
R.I.P. Andy.
Andy was one of a kind. His passion for both playing games and collecting them. He was a talented writer, a hard worker, and a good friend.
I’ve listened to all of your podcasts, most of the more than once, and now, this is my favourite of them all. I hadn’t heard about Andy Baran before episode 145 and I usually never say this, but I really wished that I could meet him and shake his hand and then play videogames with him
He really sounds like an extraordinary person that everyone should meet and I’m very sad that he passed away. When so many stories can bring a guy to life like that, you sure wonder how he was in person.
Thanks alot guys, I won’t forget this.
Even though I’m not all that familiar with his work I know people that are and thought he was awesome. However I am more familiar with the extreme and cruel battle of pancreatic cancer. I know from 1st hand experience what a horrible disease it is. My prayers are with his family.
