Sorry, I hate to be “that guy” but I was a little offended by this weeks podcast by the Shadow Complex discussion.

I thought the topic was very interesting and worthy of an open discussion. But you called Card a d-bag numerous times for his religious views. You also likened his view to a shady past or killing children. Is degrading someone’s religious belief really part of an open discussion? The article you based the discussion on had a very obvious political stance, but did not belittle the contrary opinions while discussing the main topic. I felt the topic was was handled much better there.

I do not endorse Card’s religious or political views by any means, but I do have my own beliefs. Should I boycott Playerone for its obvious stance contrary to mine? No, I’m not going to. But I’m also not going to call you names.

Sorry anonymous but the podcast never said anything about the mans’ religious views. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on a topic and i think the crew did a good job of staying on point about his belief on gay marriage.

To be fair, with Card, I’m pretty sure his stances on gay rights are religious. That doesn’t make them outside criticism, though. In one article I read today, he basically said that homosexuals ought to be tolerated as long as they admit there’s something wrong with them, and they just have no control over it. He likened it to someone who commits 2nd degree murder, or someone who goes temporarily insane. That those people need help, but only if they’re willing to be helped. Sorry…that’s just ugly.

And should you boycott us (or anyone) because our beliefs are contrary to yours? That’s your choice. And as for people boycotting Shadow Complex…that’s their choice. I know I sure didn’t.

So when should we expect the next episode???
